Earlier this month, intrepid OMF trustee, Yana Eskandari, embarked on an epic 3-week trek across Nepal and Tibet to raise money for OMF. As part of the trip, Yana hiked over 100KM across Langtang National Park in Nepal and around the mysterious Mount Kailash in Tibet - also known as the 'Stairway to Heaven'.

With an altitude of 6,714 metres, no plane has ever flown over Mount Kailash and the mountain has never been climbed. It is considered a sacred site by Hindus, Buddhists and Jains alike, who come in their thousands every year on pilgrimage to venerate the mountain by walking around it's circumference.

Yana says:
"I cant even put it into words how amazing an experience it was to be so close to the white peaks of the Himalayas. Trekking at the high altitude really puts your body to the test and stretches your physical ability. But in the end it is humbling and enlightening to realise that what carries you through is love and friendship of others
As a trustee of OMF, I am proud the charity's work in making music accessible to all children, regardless of financial circumstances. Unfortunately, learning music is becoming an activity exclusive to the wealthy elite. That's why I would like to raise £1,000 for OMF through my Tibet Trek fundraiser, which my employer Barclays will match-fund - doubling all donations! "

We're incredibly proud of Yana and the amazing adventure she's been on. It's not too late to donate to Yana's fundraiser! All contributions, however large or small, are gratefully received with 100% of proceeds going towards music lessons for our OMF young musicians.
